Dr. Teruel is the Patriarch and Founding Bishop of the Apostolic Catholic Church and the Order of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit.
He received his Doctor of Philosophy Major in Educational Management in 2002 at the Philippine College of Health and Science.Â He graduated with a Masters Degree Major in Educational Management at the Virgen delos Remedies College in Olongapo City, Zambales in 2000.Â Â He was also a college graduate of Ateneo de Manila University in 1972, University of Santo Tomas, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Columban.Â In 1991, he passed the Secondary Teacher Board Exam.
He entered the seminary at Blessed Sacrament Seminary (S.S.S. Fathers), Our Lady of Angeles Seminary (OFM Fathers) and San Jose Major Seminary (SJ Fathers).Â He also holds a Certificate of Registration and Authority to Solemnize Marriage.
He was a recipient of different grants and scholarships from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Ateneo de Manila University, Mayor Antonio Villegas, Atty. Espiridion Laxa, and Gov. Minoru Kuwasawa of the Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
Among his many accomplishments include international and national awards such as Ambassador for Peace from the United Nations Declaration thru Inter-religious and International Federation for World Peace in 2001, Doctor of Ministry in Christian Education International Diploma from the Open Seminary in 2004, â€œHail to the Global Achieversâ€ from I.D.E.A.L.S. Magazine and the Outstanding Apostolic & Community Service Exemplary Service Award from the New Life on Family Development and Youth Council, Inc.Â also in 2004.
Dr. Teruel was born in Malate, Manila. He currently resides at Hermosa Bataan, Quezon City and San Jose, California.Â He has three daughters from Leonora N. Gutierrez (divorced): Genalyn Joanne (38), Kristine Joanne (36) and Mary Joanne (34).
